I’m excited to announce that the public beta of env0 is now live! It is totally free during the beta so click here and try it out. We’re also excited to announce that we raised a $3.3M Seed round from two of the best early stage VCs in the business, Boldstart Ventures in NYC and Grove Ventures in Tel Aviv!
env0 helps local and remote teams manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) deployments in AWS, Azure, and GCP. env0 is the first cloud management platform built around enabling a company’s entire team with self-service while maintaining governance and cost control. We’ve had a number of our early partners using it for the last several months, to help their teams work more independently and relieve workload off their SRE/DevOps team.
Here is a minute long video explaining what env0 is:
Why env0?
So why env0? To really understand the impact, you have to look back 20 years to the first datacenter revolution, with virtualization (as pioneered by VMware) completely changing how companies deployed hardware in their datacenters. Ten years ago we saw the second revolution, with the introduction of public clouds and the ability for companies to rapidly scale their infrastructure without adding hardware. Today we’re living in the growth phase of the third datacenter revolution; with Infrastructure as Code allowing a level of automation and management of the cloud that makes it possible for even the largest deployments to be effectively managed there.
IaC is already huge (basically every cloud has its own flavor, plus the massively popular Terraform open source project) and widely deployed already. But current IaC solutions, and really the entire underlying construct of Infrastructure as Code, are very focused on SRE and dedicated DevOps teams and improving their existing workflows, missing an opportunity to really help drive forward this next revolution in infrastructure management.
So starting in late 2018, I joined up with my old friend Omry Hay to figure out how to better connect the technical solution that is Infrastructure as Code to the actual needs of the business and the larger team.
What We Do
The result of all this is env0. Instead of just providing an automation tool for your SRE team to manage infrastructure based on tickets they receive from devs, env0 enables your entire team to manage their own environments based on the templates, policies, and cost controls that you set up.
env0 is the first cloud management platform to offer a comprehensive solution that,
- Is built around providing your entire team with a self service solution to manage their own environments
- Automatically and recursively tags your deployed infrastructure and reports costs back to based on the projects and uses you’re spending, rather than just cloud resources (all without any manual configuration!)
- Works with all your existing cloud providers and Infrastructure as Code frameworks.
We’re excited because this feature set opens up a whole new range of capabilities and an ease of use that doesn’t exist today. Anybody can now easily enable their team to do things like,
- Automatically, provision an environment for reviewing every pull request, all from directly within the CI/CD pipeline
- Allow sales and support teams to quickly deploy custom demo environments for clients with one click
- Allow data scientists to provision their own clusters that are automatically torn down after meeting a TTL policy to prevent cost overruns
- ...plus many others!
Basically, if you want to empower your team, without losing visibility, predictability, and most importantly, control and governance of your public cloud security and cost, env0 is the right product for you.
So we encourage you all to try it out. If you’d like to learn more first, schedule a demo with us here.
Ohad, Omry, and the entire env0 team
PS: If you use it, please share your feedback with us on @envzero or by emailing contact@env0.com. Try it out, and help your organization to unlock the full potential of infrastructure-as-code!
